CUSTOMIZE YOUR OWN
Build the hybrid barrel of your dreams. Ever fantasized about a barrel made from French Oak, American Oak AND Mongolian Oak? Squarrels can be customized with different wood species and toast levels - all in one barrel.
Because every stave is separate you do not have to replace every stave in the Squarrel all at one time. When you are ready to retire some of the staves, just replace a portion at a time. Similar to blending barrels of multiple ages, you can blend staves of multiple ages all in one barrel. Nice for production, it also lowers your cost per barrel.
BUILD FRENCH OAK BARRELS FOR LESS THAN $500
Replacing French Oak Squarrel staves in a 60-gallon Squarrels requires less than $500, drastically minimizing your price per gallon.
After fermenting inside a 60-gallon Squarrel you can easily remove/drain the lees through the 6 inch bottom port. Cleaning and reusing the barrel has never been an easier process.
No racking required- Squarrels stack on themselves.
10-gallon Squarrels stack together while 30 and 60-gallon Squarrels can stack interchangeably. We recommend stacking 3 high and the Squarrels can be bolted together for extra security.
Plus, using Squarrels require ~½ the space.
Squarrels can double as kegs- simply use a sankey spear attachment and you can hook the Squarrel directly to a tap line and serve your tasting room with added production and service efficiency. This also lowers costs associated with bottling wine that will be poured on site.
The drain port/sample valve makes the sampling process a smooth one. No need for a wine thief, just twist to taste. And when you’re ready to empty the Squarrel you have an exceptionally efficient drain system.
The steel is easy to sanitize but now you can also mitigate the prospective of contamination by baking the staves in an oven for a thoroughly sterile environment. Also, by tapping directly from the Squarrel you can reduce your points of contact- further alleviating the potential for contamination.
Put the Squarrel under pressure and you’ve just minimized your need to top off. Squarrels still allow for micro-oxygenation but you can save time, product and energy by keeping the Squarrels continuously full.
